In the midst of all the other unfinished projects, a new one is born: peeps.
It is an effort to create a lightweight publishing platform. With the way major platforms have devolved, maybe it is best to have a a constellation of small services, serving small communities? In the end, public content is indexed by search engines, and universally available. There is really no reason for us to all be on the same system, to put all of our eggs in the same basket. For that basket is under the control and subject to exploitation and sabotage by large companies.
So I want to create a platform for medium-form content, enough to express an idea, to write a poem, create a photo essay, report on a situation.
It will support
- creating and editing of documents
- documents are owned by an account
- users have access to documents of accounts they are members of
- users have either read, write, edit or admin access to account documents
- documents consist of a sequence of media types, including: markdown, plain text, image, link
- published documents are publicly available
